Crowns
A crown is used to “cap” or completely cover a damaged tooth. In addition to strengthening damaged teeth, crowns also improve their appearance, shape or alignment. They can also be placed over an implant to provide tooth shape and structure of function. Porcelain or ceramic crowns can be adapted to the colour of your natural teeth. Other materials such as gold, metal alloys, acrylic and ceramics are also used. These alloys are generally stronger than porcelain and can be recommended for posterior teeth. Porcelain crowns bonded to a metal shell are often used, and are both strong and attractive.
